Traveling, competing in sports, pushing boundaries, and stepping outside my comfort zone are all integral to shaping my personality and character. I feel most alive in the final 250 meters of a rowing race or after three days of backpacking in the mountains. But what truly defines me is the time I spend with my husband and our dogs, The Pack, as we explore the beauty of nature together.
Below you can find some of my/our recent expeditions
I’ve always been an active person. In high school, I played volleyball, and during my university years, I switched to rugby. My love for competition drives me to constantly push my limits—to prove I can be stronger, faster, and better. This journey is fueled by hard, systematic training and the unwavering support of my friends and husband.
In 2021, I joined the wonderful rowing association TWDW in Warsaw, Poland. There’s nothing quite like welcoming the sunrise on the water, whether rowing solo or with friends. When I moved to Frankfurt, I had the pleasure of rowing with the fantastic Germania team and competed in the European Masters Championships, earning two third-place finishes in the mixed 2x and 4x events.
Now, in Columbus, rowing has helped me find a sense of belonging with GCRA on the Scioto River. This passionate group of rowers has become my extended family. In 2023, I achieved a major milestone, winning a gold medal at the US Masters Championships in the women’s 4x. As I prepare for my second US Nationals, I’m excited for the challenges and triumphs ahead.
I visited my sister-in-law Katie for couple of days in Anchorage Alaska. Nature is just purely amazing. The space, lack of people and wilderness. I am sure that I will be back there!
We saw the start of Iditarod!
Before INT Workshop in Seattle, I managed to spent 5 days in Olympic National Park. Here is some small summary! (music on!)
It was my first time in "bear country" ;)
After shifts at LHCb CERN, I met my Dad (Tata) and we did some hiking and climbing in Swiss Alps.
some text is in Polish, sorry!
Our first big family trip, some camping and some hiking.
Since childhood, I have loved sailing—being exposed to nature, the elements (or as we say in Polish, żywioły), and using physics, determination, and skill to steer wherever the wind allows.
I started as a sailing instructor at children’s sailing camps, teaching young sailors the basics of wind, water, and teamwork. From there, I moved on to sailing the Baltic Sea, first on smaller boats and later on Tall Ships. I spent months aboard STS Fryderyk Chopin, sailing around Europe and gaining invaluable experience in offshore navigation.
Eventually, I fulfilled a lifelong dream: crossing the Atlantic Ocean. My first transatlantic voyage took me from the Caribbean Islands to Bermuda, the Azores, the UK, and finally Poland, facing countless adventures, storms, and challenges along the way. It was a journey of self-discovery, testing my limits, resilience, and adaptability.
With experience came new responsibilities. I was promoted to officer in a professional crew, later embarking on another transatlantic passage—this time in the opposite direction. Sailing from the Spanish Canary Islands to Cape Verde, then to Brazil’s Fernando de Noronha, and back to the Caribbean, I served as Second Officer aboard a crew of 52.
This final major voyage was a transformative adventure, a challenge that reshaped my perspective on the world, teamwork, and the power of the open sea.
